The list of countries whose citizens will benefit from the visa-free regime upon entering the country is approved in Georgia. The government adopted the resolution on June 5 and made public on the website of "Journal of Laws".
Under the new regulations, citizens from the CIS countries, EU, Russia and USA would be able to enter Georgia without a visa.
According to the document, citizens of the EU countries would be able to enter into the country with the travel document, as well as with an ID card that is issued by an EU member state and contains the personв`s name, surname, date of birth and a photo.
Entering Georgia and staying here for 360 days is also possible for citizens who hold a United Nations (UN) Laissez-Passer, a travel document issued by the UN or its specialized agencies.
This represents a revision of the Georgian Governmentв`s earlier decision, which permit to enter Georgia without a visa for citizens from 94 countries involved in visa-free regime only for 90 days in an 180-day period.
This law came into effect on September 1, 2014.
