European Championship bronze medallist Yu Fu was disappointed after Portugal`s 3-1 defeat by Russia in the first round of the women`s Team Table Tennis event at Baku Sports Hall on Saturday morning.
She got Portugal off to a good start by winning her first match, only to see her teammates lose the next three. "To help the team, the only thing I could do was to win. It was good to go 1-0 up by winning the first, but unfortunately I couldn`t get back to the table."
Azerbaijan`s Guliyeva Rufat and Shirinova Sharmin lost 3-0 to France in their match. The men`s Team first round begins on Saturday afternoon.
