The silver medal went to the triathlete from the Netherlands, Rachel Klamer, while the bronze medal was won by the representative of Sweden, Lisa Norden.
The Azerbaijani triathlete, Kseniya Levkovskaya, came in 17th.
Thus, this is the second gold medal of Switzerland at Baku 2015 over this day. Earlier, Jolanda Neff, Switzerland’s representative at the Baku 2015 women’s mountain bike (cross-country) event, won the event, becoming the first-ever gold medal winner at the European Games.
Triathlon event is held at the Bilgah Beach.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
