Simon Clegg, the Baku 2015 chief operating officer, said he is very pleased with the work of the European Games Operation Committee.

He said 24 gold medals have already been won, adding that Azerbaijan leads the list of medals in the first three days of the Games.

“8000 tickets have been sold after the opening ceremony, and 15,000 - yesterday. 75 percent of seats are already occupied. Until today, 23 thousand spectators watched 20 different competitions at 9 sports facilities. Seats in six competitions were fully occupied. Today, the competitions will be held at 7 sports venues. Due to the fact that today is a non-working day in Azerbaijan, 30 thousand spectators are expected in the competitions,” he added.
