On the second day of the Games, the competition among men’s team came to a close at the National Gymnastics Arena, according to apasport.az.
The competition among 26 teams ended in historical success for the Azerbaijani team, comprised of Oleg Stepko, Petro Paknyuk, Eldar Safarov and others. The Azerbaijani gymnasts took the gold medal.
Having gained 174,195 points in total of six moves, our team took the third place, being outscored by Russia (178,963) and Ukraine (177,429).
Note that, Stepko finished the qualifying round at the third place in individual competition.
With 88,231 points on balance, the Azerbaijani gymnast fell behind Ukrainian Oleg Vernyayev (91,532) and Russian Nikita Ignatyev (89,065). Petro Paknyuk scored 73,231 and Eldar Safarov 69,665.
