Ministry of Foreign Affairs negotiates with Armenia on fate of captured Azerbaijani citizen of Georgia
Georgian Foreign Ministry conducts negotiations with Yerevan on returning the captured Georgian citizen - ethnic Azerbaijani, Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Monday.

"At this stage the negotiations with Yerevan are conducted by Georgian Foreign Ministry", official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to the information, resident of Burma village in the municipality Sadakhlo (Eastern Georgia) Allahverdi Pelengov was arrested along with his 2 Armenian acquaintances in the neutral zone of the Georgian-Armenian border. From there he was transferred to Yerevan, and his acquaintances were released.

The Georgian police took measures after the kidnapped`s family turned to them. The police took testimony of Pelengov`s wife, his son Kenan, and other witnesses of the event.

As Georgian Foreign Ministry reported, at this stage it turned out that Pelengov was arrested for illegally crossing the Armenian border.

Georgian Foreign Ministry thus far does not comment on the negotiations.
