The brutal jihadi group`s chiefs have seized control of a stunning mansion home in Syria, according to their social media accounts.
These breathtaking pictures show the opulent home sprawling in the desert which they themselves posted with the headline: ‘A castle for the tyrants of Qatar in Palmyra’, reports the International Business Times.
It`s another step in the expansion of the group across the Middle East - having claimed Palmyra in May - but they claim that the home was already abandoned when they moved in.
The previous owners - the Qatari Royal family - decked out the interiors in luxurious style with gold-leaf pillars.
One Twitter user in Syria, thought to have been a previous palace employee, shared the photography from satellites last December.
According to his tweets, the 2009 construction of the villa was scuppered by the start of the civil war in Syria.
The building, designed for Emira Mozeh, is commonly referred to as Mozeh Palace.
The images show a stunning palace built without a care for expense, including landscaped gardens, halls built of marble, and an indoor pool among the grandeur.
The photographs of the hilltop home were released by the group’s Homs Province media network.
