Former Egyptian President Morsi Sentenced to Life in Prison for Espionage
The verdict was broadcast by Egyptian state television.
Three Muslim Brotherhood leaders were sentenced to death on espionage charges, while 11 received life sentences.
The court will make a second sentence later Tuesday for orchestrating a prison break.

In May, Morsi and a number of his Muslim Brotherhood allies were charged with leaking state secrets and orchestrating a 2011 prison break. The cases were transferred to the Grand Mufti, the country`s top religious scholar, for confirmation.
Morsi is currently serving a 20-year prison term for inciting the killing of protesters during mass riots outside the Federal Palace in Cairo in December 2012.
