Azerbaijan can host Olympic Games
Organizing of the first European Games at the highest level eliminates all doubts about the ability of Azerbaijan to hold the Olympic Games, Wu Ching-kuo, president of the International Boxing Association, said in an interview with Francs Jeux.
"Following the European Games, Azerbaijan can host any major events, particularly, the Olympic Games," Wu said.

He also said that he was greatly impressed by the opening ceremony of the European Games in Baku. In particular, Wu has attended all such events since 1988 (Seoul Olympics).

“I liked the opening ceremony of the first European Games very much,” he said.

He said that the ceremony was held at the highest level.

"While using the latest technologies, the organizers were able to reproduce the Olympic spirit and to convey the culture of Azerbaijan to the audience," Wu said.

The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.

There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
