Azerbaijani wrestler defeats Armenian athlete, advances to quarterfinals
Azerbaijani wrestler Haji Aliyev defeated Armenian athlete in men’s freestyle wrestling (61 kg) at the First European Games and advanced to the quarterfinals June 18.

In 1/8 finals, Haji Aliyev gained a flawless victory over Valodya Frangulyan (Armenia), 7:0.
The second, the last day of men’s freestyle wrestling events started at the First European Games in Baku June 18.

The winners will be determined in the weight categories of 61 kg, 70 kg, 86 kg and 125 kg.

The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.

There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
