Baku's streets deserted as anti-coronavirus curfew imposed - PHOTOS

Streets and main squares across Baku are deserted in the wake of a curfew imposed by the Operational Headquarters under the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers on Friday night. The measure, which will remain in place for two days, has been taken in order to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Activities in all areas of working, services and trade, as well as the movement of public transport and cars in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Lankaran and Absheron region were stopped from 00:00 (GMT+4) on June 6 to 06:00 o'clock on June 8.

Azerbaijan has 6860 cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, to date. Eighty-four people died so far.
