Day 9 of European Games kicks off

Day 9 of European Games kicks off

Archery, beach volleyball, boxing, road cycling, diving, artistic gymnastics, shooting, volleyball and water polo events will be held today.

On the ninth day of the European Games, the athletes will contend for 18 medal sets: one set in water polo, three – archery, 10 – artistic gymnastics, two – diving, one – road cycling and one set in beach volleyball.

Azerbaijani athletes will take part in archery, boxing, artistic gymnastics, road cycling and diving events.

The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
