Azerbaijan increases import of building materials from Georgia over quarter
In the first half of 2013 249.77,000 tons of cement in the amount of $18.45 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan, according to a report posted on website of GruzStat (National Statistical Service of Georgia).
The share of this category in the total volume of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan in the first half year constituted 5.54 per cent.

In comparison with the same period, the export of cement from Georgia increased by 28.48 per cent, or 53.7, 000 tons. For comparison, in January-June 2012 196.08, 000 tons of cement in the amount of $14.36 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan.

In the reporting period the growth of steel bar export from Georgia to Azerbaijan was also observed. Thus, in the first half of 2013 27.52,000 tons of steel bar in the amount of $17.24 million was exported to Azerbaijan, this is 15.13 per cent more than in January-June 2012. In quantitative terms, the growth constituted 26.85 per cent. For comparison, in the first half of 2012 Azerbaijan imported from Georgia 21.7,000 tons of steel bar in the amount of $17.98 million.

In January-June 2013 the goods in the amount of $332.81 million, or 26.9 per cent from the total export of the country, was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan for the reporting period.

Export to Azerbaijan increased by 17.5 per cent, in comparison with the same period of 2012. For comparison, in January-June 2012 Georgian goods in the amount of $283.23 million were exported to Azerbaijan.
