Additional 12,200 tickets sold for European Games
Additional 12,200 tickets were sold for the competitions within the First European Games in Baku on June 22, Simon Clegg, the Baku 2015 chief operating officer said at the press-conference on Tuesday.
He noted that yesterday seven sport disciplines successfully completed the competition stage.

On June 22 the level of attendance across all competition venues was 81 percent on average, Clegg said. He said on June 22 there were 36,416 spectators across 14 sessions at 7 different venues.

He also added that today three sports commence the competition– swimming, 3X3 basketball and fencing.

Badminton, fencing, swimming, boxing, volleyball and 3x3 basketball events are taking place on June 23. Athletes will contend for nine medal sets: seven in swimming, and two in fencing. Azerbaijani athletes will take part in all these events.

The European Games that kicked off June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
