Kremlin hopes for soonest settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict

Russia hopes for the soonest settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, AzVision.az reports.

He noted that the conflict resolution will allow the normalization of the emotional background of Azerbaijanis and Armenians living in Russia.

“As you know, there are many Azerbaijanis and Armenians in Moscow, in general in Russia. All of them are law-abiding citizens of Russia. It clear that the Azerbaijani and Armenian citizens could not remain indifferent to the escalation along the two countries’ border, and they, of course, reacted emotionally,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov reiterated Russia’s call for both sides to show restraint, to immediately observe the ceasefire regime and stop violence.

Starting from July 12, the armed forces of Armenia committed military provocations in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz district along the two countries’ border.
