Works are underway to purchase new weapons, equipment, military property and include them into the inventory in order to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces and improve the quality of comprehensive and continuous logistic support of troops.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov made this statement on the 97th anniversary of the country’s Armed Forces.
Hasanov said that military products are repaired, modernized and re-processed under the development program.
“Special attention is paid to the provision of the troops with ammunition, replacement of weapons and devices in operation for a long time with new ones and organization of their proper use,” he noted.
The defense minister informed about the weapons and military equipment purchased to maintain combat capability of the defense forces at a high level.
“The units and formulations were provided with modern 152 mm “Msta-S” self-propelled howitzer, 120 mm “Vena” self-Propelled artillery gun, 122 mm “Sakarya” reactive system multiple rocket launchers, 120 mm “Sani” mortars, 220 mm TOS-1A reactive systems, new types of ammunitions, and different types of repair and team-observed machines. Military units and divisions were provided with sophisticated T-90S, BMP-3, BTR-82A armored-tanks, evacuation machines and training simulators,” he added.
