US: Corruption and the opacity of authorities are main problems of Armenia
According to the annual report of the US Department of State on human rights in the world the most significant human rights violations in Armenia in 2014 were corruption and the opacity of the authorities, News.am reported on Thursday.

There are also reports of abuse and suspicious deaths in the armed forces of Armenia, as well as cases of hazing and abuse of conscripts. The perpetrators, according to the authors, have not been prosecuted.

"Police continued to use torture to extract confessions and beating citizens during arrest and interrogation. Many prisons are overcrowded and unsanitary. Authorities continued to arbitrarily arrest and detain criminal suspects without reasonable suspicion ", - the report says.
