US imposes sanctions against Russia`s major energy companies
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) under the US Department of the Treasury said it has imposed new sanctions against Russian companies
The sanctions list, for the first time, included Russia’s major energy companies including Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegas. The sectoral sanctions ban the companies supply with the equipment and products used in the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Arctic shelf, shale fields and deep areas.

On June 29, Canada added 3 individuals, 14 legal entities to anti-Russia sanctions list. The sanctions are imposed against leaders of the Eurasian Youth Union Alexander Dugin, Pavel Kanitschev and Andrey Kovalenko, Russian companies Night Wolves Motorcycle Club, Gazprom, Transneft, Surqutnefteqaz, Oboronprom, United Aircraft Corporation and others.

In the spring of 2014, the West began to impose sanctions against Russia in connection with the Crimea annexation and Donbass war.
