Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan's government sometimes tries to calm down the local people by spreading misinformation, and sometimes tries to silence dissatisfied residents with various promises.
Of course, all this is aimed at preventing the internal socio-political crisis in Armenia. Meanwhile, Nikol Pashinyan has already started to openly demonstrate his transition to a dictatorial regime.
Therefore, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia banned the broadcasting of "programs that cast doubt on Armenia's defense capabilities".
The decision prohibits the broadcasting of the speeches and publications of the state and local government officials which criticize, refute, question, or undermine the effectiveness of martial law and national security.
Perhaps the most interesting thing is to know how long the Armenian PM will continue to shut down independent media and experts, who are more likely to inform the people about their defeat. In general, will this new decision save the crisis in Armenia that would sound the death knell for Pashinyan?
As the Azerbaijani army continues its counter-attacks in all directions, great military failures made Nikol take such a step. Armenia has already recognized that Azerbaijani military units have advanced tens of kilometres, and a large number of settlements have been liberated. Armenia has already officially acknowledged the loss of much military equipment and manpower and the withdrawal of Armenian troops. Although there is some news shared by Armenian social media users, there is no information about 5,000 officers and soldiers who disappeared in the frontline. In such a difficult situation, Pashinyan considers the use of censorship as the best option. However, not only military issues but also the economic crisis has become a serious headache for official Yerevan. The Armenian economy, which is already in a difficult situation, has not been able to find resources for the war in recent days, and foreign donations are not enough.
Armenia finds it impossible to supply food and other resources not only to the population, but also to the front. It is no coincidence that there is an increase in the number of the Armenians’ social network posts about the shortage of food, medicine, weapons and even military uniforms.
The military-economic downturn has put Pashkina in a serious domestic political crisis. Thus, the failure on the front paves the way for socio-economic tragedies, which in turn leads to a political crisis. Pashinyan’s opponents are striving to take advantage of this. It should be noted that the “Karabakh clan”, Pashinyan’s main opponent, has already become much more active. Ex-president Kocharyan has also become must more active. There are even rumors that Kocharyan has supplied “large amount of weapons” to separatists in Karabakh, and he is now trying to introduce himself as “savior of Karabakh”. Of course, all this will create additional problems for Pashinyan, who is currently facing a war and a serious socio-economic crisis.
According to experts, the Armenian people, fed up with the failed domestic and foreign policy of Pashinyan, can once again return to the regime of the previous executioners. In short, the revival of the “Karabakh clan”, which presents itself as an alternative to the current government, is a serious signal to Pashinyan. The ongoing socio-economic and political crisis has triggered panic in Armenia and within the government. Pashinayn has already started talking about "betrayal on the front" and "hunting" for traitors in the country. Against the background of the ongoing events, the official censorship of the government further irritates the Armenian society. From all this, it can be concluded that today, feeling the threat of overthrow, Pashinyan began to apply an open dictatorship.
