Azerbaijani defense minister meets Lithuanian PM - PHOTOS
As part of his visit to Lithuania, Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov visited on Thursday the Freedom Monument which was erected in honor of those laying down their lives for the country’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, and laid a wreath at the monument, the defense ministry told.

Then the Azerbaijani defense minister met with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius.

The sides stressed successful development of relations between the two countries. Hasanov gave detailed information about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Underlining good practice in the field of bilateral cooperation, the defense minister said that expansion of mutual relations is beneficial for the two countries.

"We are confident that the consultations between the two countries and expansion of cooperation will contribute to strengthening peace and security in the Eurasian space,” added Hasanov.

The sides condemned international terrorism, all kinds of extremism, aggressive separatism and other threats to international security and stability, noting the need to intensify international efforts in the fight against them.

Moreover, the sides discussed other issues of mutual interest.
