WB financed 51 projects in Azerbaijan over past years
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev received a delegation led by WB regional director for South Caucasus Henry Kerali.
AzVision.Az reports citing the Ministry of Economy and Industry that the sides discussed the current relations between Azerbaijan and WB and prospects of development of cooperation.

Mustafayev noted the important of the projects implemented in cooperation with the international financial institutions and extensive cooperation with WB and stressed the continuation of works on economic diversification, development of nonoil sector and improvement of business environment.

He said WB has allocated loans in the total amount of USD 3.6bn for implementation of 51 projects in Azerbaijan so far. 35 projects have already been completed while implementation of 16 projects continues.

Mustafayev noted that in three years of Kerali`s work as a regional director for South Caucasus, the relations with WB further expanded, 6 projects worth USD 6mln were financed.

Kerali praised the successful cooperation and expressed confidence that WB will further provide financial and technical support to the projects implemented in Azerbaijan.

The sides also exchanged views on searching ways for cooperation in the next five years, development of tourism and other issues of mutual concern.
