On a side note, we noticed that the BlackBerry 10 operating system was able to download Android apps from the Amazon App Store. The advanced security features and hardware keyboard along with the features of Android ecosystem could make this smartphone stand out of the line.
Notorious Twitter leaker Evan Blass tweeted a picture (below) of the incoming phone, which will apparently be the company’s first smartphone to run Android. According to him, the upcoming smartphone will be called BlackBerry Venice and will be exclusive to AT&T, at least in the first phase of its release.
BlackBerry briefly showed off the slider device on stage at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March, but it has provided little detail on it since then. Frankly, it has little to lose by using Android as the base software on the Venice and future BlackBerry handsets. The design of the keyboard here is very identical to the BlackBerry Passport, which is another red flag.
Chen in March said the company was still committed to its own devices business. Honestly, when was the last time you remembered BlackBerry even exists?
The image is cut off, so it’s not possible to really tell what the device looks like.
