High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia acknowledges bringing mercenaries to Armenia

High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan announced the names of the countries from where the mercenaries arrived in Armenia.

"Volunteers from different countries are coming to take part in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan said in his statement to correspondent of Sputnik Armenia.

According to his words, the "volunteers" are mostly from Russia. There are also people from the United States, France, Ukraine and the Middle East.

It is clear from Sinanyan's words that "volunteers" come to Karabakh to fight not only voluntarily, but also with the organization and funding from the Armenian government. Therefore, Sinanyan confirms that his country brought mercenaries to Karabakh in exchange for money: “Before arrival, they prepare and present lists in writen format, stating their problems and requests for the government. They are mainly those who come voluntarily using their own funds ... ”

When it comes to the issue of assistance for Karabakh, Sinanyan noted that most of the funding comes from the Armenian diaspora in Russia, the United States, France, Ukraine and the Middle East. Disclosing the names of the funds, the commissioner said that he personally coordinates the work to "direct and distribute aid as efficiently as possible."

His statement was not distinctly welcomed on Armenian social networks. Thus, the head of the diaspora is accused of embezzling aid.

Earlier, Armenian socio-political figure Mihran Hakobyan accused Zareh Sinanyan of plundering the people and attracting non-Armenians to Karabakh. He said that "Sinanyan is turning the country into the homeland of other nations in order to resolve the demographic problem of Armenia."

In fact, the Armenian government resettles foreigners not in the territory of Armenia, but in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions of Azerbaijan. Even in the current period of the war, they envisage that relocated civilians could die. It must be noted that most of these civilians are families of mercenaries coming from Lebanon, Syria and Argentina.
