Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaija launch criminal case against PKK-PYD-YPG terrorists

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to take urgent measures to expose the aggressive nature of the Republic of Armenia in the international arena, AzVision.az reports.

Accordingly, the Prosecutor General's Office conducted an investigation on the basis of the collected data on the crimes committed by the members of the PKK-PYD-YPG, a terrorist organisation as well as a Lebanese citizen Vartkes and others. 

The investigations revealed that under the leadership of Lebanese Karadag, Hemaran Kervachian and Sarvat Bagopshi in March-April 2016 and in September-November 2020, members of PKK-PYD-YPG terrorist organizations living in different parts of Syria, Lebanon and the Republic of Iraq created a criminal group by the help of Lebanese citizen Vartkes and other people living in the Republic of Armenia and the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The members of this criminal group illegally entered the internationally-recognized territories of Azerbaijan and were also recruited as mercenaries by the Armenian military-political regime to fight against Azerbaijani Armed Forces.  

In addition, they committed terror attacks against Azerbaijani civilians who did not take part in military operations using ammunition, military equipment, causing explosions and fires. 

In regard with the above-mentioned facts, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a criminal cases under Articles 100.2 (waging an aggressive war), 120.2.1 (premeditated murder by a criminal organization), 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and other articles of the Criminal Code. Criminal and the investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
