Tbilisi building collapse kills three people
Building collapse in central Tbilisi caused death of three people and another is badly injured.
Deputy head of Tbilisi division of Georgia`s Emergency Situation Management Department Davit Gelashvili confirmed the bodies of three workers had been recovered from the debris and a fourth worker had been taken to hospital with "very severe injuries", rescue workers are also looking for one more worker in the collapsed building, which is located in the Saburtalo district, behind Sports Palace. It was built during the Soviet Union and was used by the Institute of Mathematics, but was recently sold and refurbishing is ongoing with plans to open a hotel there.

It is still not known what caused the collapse. However, experts have said many of the buildings being constructed in this area don`t meet safety standards and might be dangerous.
