The State Statistics Committee published the number of population of Azerbaijan on the occasion of July 11 - World Population Day.
From the beginning of this year the population of Azerbaijan grew by 43 300 people or 0.5%, and on June 1, 2015 it constituted 9 636 300 people, State Committee reports.
The population density is 111 people per square kilometer.
The proportion of urban population among the total population is 53.1%, the proportion of the rural population - 46.9%.
49.8% of the population are men and 50.2% - women.
Age of 22.4% of the population is 0-14 years, 71.6% of the population are 15-64, 6% - 65 or more years.
