Azerbaijani CEC approves ballots for presidential election
At Tuesday`s meeting the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan approved the text, form, number and rules of preparation of ballots of presidential elections.

According to the requirements of the Election Code, the text, form and number of presidential election ballots should be approved 35 days before and printed ten days before the voting day, the CEC Secretary Arifa Mukhtarova said.

The ballot papers will be printed in an amount not exceeding three percent of the number of voters, she said.

Introducing the text of the ballots, Mukhtarova said that some 5,149,255 election ballots will be printed in the printing house of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan under the supervision of the CEC.

The composition of the District Election Commission (DEC) of Surakhani first election constituency No. 30 was also changed at the meeting.

The presidential election is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan on October 9.

Azerbaijan holds presidential elections every five years.

Azerbaijani citizens with higher education, who have been permanently residing on Azerbaijan territory for over 10 years, those who have not been convicted of serious crime, those not having obligations to other states and without dual citizenship are entitled to the right to be elected to the post of president.
