The vessel was delivered to the Iranian navy in the Persian Gulf in February 2010. It is designed and manufactured by Iranian specialists.

Jamaran is able to fight with submarines, aircraft and enemy ships. Moreover, the destroyer has a helipad. It can be used in `electronic warfare`.
