Representatives of Azerbaijani community in NK to address Chatham House - FM
Elmar Mammadyarov: Azerbaijani community representatives will deliver their own opinions to those with whom Bako Sahakyan met in London

Representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Nagorno-Karabakh will deliver their own opinions to those with whom Bako Sahakyan, the head of the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh met in London, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told reporters on July 10.

The Azerbaijani foreign ministry and its embassy in London have already issued a statement on Sahakyan’s visit, the FM said. “Sahakyan made a guest visit to London with his Armenian passport.”

“It should be investigated, why he gets a visa with Armenian passport? On one hand, Armenia declares that they are independent, on the other hand they use Armenian passport while traveling to England, previously to the US and France. These are personal visits,” Mammadyarov added.

Azerbaijan has sent several letters of protest to the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the FM said. “Madame Cox is the member of the UK parliament. According to country’s legislation, they can invite to the parliament whoever they want. However, it doesn’t mean that the UK parliament confirms or approves something. On the other hand, if Bako Sahakyan delivers Armenian community’s opinions at “Chatham House”, Azerbaijani community should also have such a chance. We have already concluded negotiations in this regard. Now, we are fixing the date through our embassy. Azerbaijani community representatives will deliver their own opinions to those with whom Bako Sahakyan met in London.
