Hashimov was born on 2 January 1975 in Vendam village, Azerbaijan’s Gabala district.
He finished secondary school in Sumgayit. Hashimov studied at the Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev. He then continued his education in Turkey.
Hashimov was promoted to the high military rank of Major General after the victorious April battles in 2016.
Major General Hashimov heroically died while preventing Armenia’s military provocations in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz district on the night of July 13-14.
Hashimov was buried in the Second Alley of Honor in Baku on July 15.
