Volcano Erupts in Mexico, Spewing Lava and Ash - VIDEO
A volcanic eruption has reportedly been registered in western Mexico`s Colima State, where people were advised to keep at least three miles away from the epicenter.
The Colima Volcano has erupted in western Mexico, and has started to spew ash about 6.4 kilometers (four miles) into the air and send lava down its slopes, media reports said.

The volcano, also known as the Fire Volcano, began erupting early on Thursday, and continued to spew ash on Friday morning.

According to Colima State`s civil protection agency, the volcano`s initial eruption took place after 11 a.m. on Thursday, with ash reportedly falling to the crater`s southwestern area. Friday saw a reconnaissance flyover by a Colima State helicopter, officials said.

A spate of volcanic eruptions were registered at the site in 1991, 1998, 1999, 2001, and 2005.
