The Armenian National Security Service (NSS) now requires special permission to disseminate information on the regions of Syunik province bordering with Azerbaijan, said the NSS, AzVision.az reports citing Armenian media.
According to the NSS, media representatives must apply in writing to the National Security Service before reporting on the border areas.
The Media Advocate initiative considers the decision to be the most primitive step against freedom of speech. According to the organization, this decision restricts the right of citizens to get information.
