Nuland to Visit Kiev on July 15-16
US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland will meet with Ukrainian government officials and business leaders. They will discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues.
Victoria Nuland, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, will visit Ukraine on July 15-16. During the visit, Nuland plans to meet with Ukrainian high-profile officials, politicians, businessmen and public figures.

Nuland will also discuss a number of bilateral and regional issues with Ukrainian officials. The Kiev visit will end Nuland’s trip to a range of countries, including Switzerland, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, and Serbia.

During her last visit to Ukraine on May 14-16, Nuland met with President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, Finance Minister Natalia Yaresko, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, parliament members, Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko, opposition leaders and OSCE representatives to Ukraine.

There she discussed with Ukrainian politicians further joint steps on the peaceful settlement to the Donbass conflict. Nuland also reassured her Ukranian colleagues that the US will further contribute to normalize the situation in the country.

The Minsk peace deal reached on February 12 presumes a constitutional reform in Ukraine decentralizing the country. The amendments must take into account the special aspects of "separate districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions" and must be coordinated with representatives of these areas.

Authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have repeatedly submitted their proposals on the reform, but they all were ignored by Kiev.
