SOCAR: Azerbaijan can deliver oil to Supsa port via alternative routes
"Even the routes of Baku-Supsa pipeline are not changed, this will not cause any problem for the pipeline", SOCAR vice-president on investments and marketing Elshan Nasirov said.
According to him, Azerbaijan can deliver the oil to Supsa port via alternative routes: “I think that no difficulty will be arisen, even the route of a part of Baku-Supsa pipeline passing through South Ossetia is not changed. Because Georgia and South Ossetia reached an agreement after 2008 conflict. On the other hand, even any problem occurs, we can deliver oil to Supsa port via alternative routes”.

Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Kakha Kaladze told Georgia’s Public Television that in existence of any threat to Baku-Supsa pipeline, the government will launch alternative project: “The matter is about construction of a new part in the length of 1,500-1,600”.

Georgia claims that the Russian military forces have moved the occupation line in Tskhinvali region some hundreds of meters inside Georgia, seizing part of Baku-Supsa pipeline operated by BP.
