  Russian peacekeepers carry out landmine-clearance operations in Khojavend region  
 

Engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have conducted mine clearance operations in Nagorno-Karabakh. Russian peacekeeping contingent cleared the Girmizi Bazaar settlement of Khojavend region, AzVision.az reports citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

It was noted that Russian sappers defused about 400 explosives, including 122 mm high-explosive artillery shells and cumulative tank ammunition.

The explosives were destroyed at a specially equipped Ballica polygon. Ammunition that could not be evacuated was neutralized on the spot by taking relevant security measures.

In total, since November 23, 2020, 1,319 buildings, including 1,419 hectares of land, 443 km of roads and 30 social facilities have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, and 24,453 explosives have been found and neutralized.
