President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on changes to decree dated on December 26, 2013 "On additional measures to improve the ecological condition, protection and use of Lake Boyukshor" and a decree dated October 15, 2014 "On additional measures to improve, protect and use the ecological condition of Lake Zig."
Under the relevant decree, the powers on the lakes have been transferred from the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
