Five wounded as man opens fire on Istanbul
An unidentified man wounded five people on Istanbul’s central İstiklal Avenue when he opened fire on a group with whom he was allegedly quarreling.

The armed suspect opened fire on the group on the touristic street in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district at around 5 a.m. on July 20.

Four people from the group were wounded while a tourist passing by was injured in the leg.

Policemen and medical teams soon arrived at the scene following reports by witnesses.

Police collected evidence and started an extensive search to locate the suspect while victims were transferred to Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital in neighboring Şişli.
