Armenian PM's Office: Onik Gasparyan dismissed from post with the force of constitutional norm

Armenian Prime Minister’s administration has come up with an explanation regarding the ruling made by the administrative court in Onik Gasparyan’s case, according to which Gasparyan will continue the implementation of the duties of the Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian media. 

“Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan has been dismissed from post on March 10, 2021 on the basis of the President’s decree that entered into force in accordance with constitutional norm and recorded by the PM’s statement issued on the same day,” the administration said in a statement.

According to the statement, act that entered into force with the force of the constitutional norm is irreversible, consequently Onik Gasparyan is dismissed from the post.

“The process of appointment of new Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces proceeds,” the statement said.
