Armenian PM stresses need to unblock communications with Azerbaijan

There is a need to unblock regional communications, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with residents of Aragats village, Armavir region, AzVision.az reports.

Pashinyan stressed that the opening of roads will play a key role for the development of the Armenian economy and industry. As an example, he pointed to the field of copper ore mining.

He recalled that Armenia is rich in copper, but the modernization of its industry and the creation of capacities for smelting copper are impossible without communications. In this context, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of unblocking regional transport infrastructures.

“We have to make some decisions. We must understand that we cannot get a path through the territory of Azerbaijan, but at the same time not give it a path through our territory. We must be able to mutually use the existing routes. We must create a favorable atmosphere around Armenia in the region. For this, we must change our point of view on the region, and our neighbors must do the same with regard to us,” the premier added.
