Firstly a needs assessment mission will be sent to Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan invited the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to send an observation mission for the upcoming parliamentary elections, the ODIHR told on July 22.
The invitation from Baku has already been received, said ODIHR, adding that firstly, a needs assessment mission will be sent to Azerbaijan.
“The mission in Azerbaijan will have meeting with the parties interested in the elections, as well as representatives of the government and political parties, independent candidates, members of civil society and media representatives. If the observation mission is carried out, on the basis of the collected information, the mission will give recommendations on what kind of election observation will be held,” said the ODIHR.
