U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan meets CEC head
A meeting of the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar with the Chairman of Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov was held on Thursday at the CEC, the Department of Media and Public Relations of CEC Secretariat told Trend on Thursday.
The U.S. Ambassador asked about the works carried out on the eve of the elections, and planned activities.

The CEC Chairman noted that, currently the registration process is being completed and agitation campaigns will begin on September 16. Panahov noted that all conditions have been created for the registered candidates for carrying out agitation campaign in accordance with the legislation.

Panahov also spoke about the steps taken for holding the upcoming elections in democratic conditions, and answered all questions of the guest.

The perspectives of cooperation, in relation to the elections were also discussed at the meeting.

The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9.

Azerbaijan holds presidential elections every five years.
