Incirlik military base can be partly used against IS, says Erdogan
In the case of necessity, Incirlik military base can be partly used in the operations against the "Islamic State", Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
The president said Turkey would make every effort to prevent the activities of the terrorist organizations, TRT Haber TV channel reported July 24.

He added that Turkey ’s air force will continue the military operations against the IS militants.

Earlier, some media outlets reported that allegedly, Turkey provided the Incirlik military base for fighting the IS militants.

Turkish Air Force resumed the bombing of the positions of IS in Syria July 24. The bombing of the IS positions destroyed the car caravan of the militants.

Four F16 aircraft of the Air Force of Turkey carried out strikes on the IS positions on the border with Syria on July 24, at 03:50 (UTC/GMT +3 hours).

As the Turkish military said, earlier five IS militants opened fire on the border patrol in the Kilis province using rocket-propelled grenades and Kalashnikov rifles. As a result, one soldier was killed and two more were wounded.

Earlier this week, the Turkish city of Suruc on the border with Syria was hit by a powerful explosion. The terrorist attack killed 32 and injured about 100. Turkish officials are holding IS responsible for the attack.
