Signature submission deadline in support of presidential candidates expires in Georgia
The signature submission deadline in the Central Election Commission (CEC) will expire for the presidential candidates` supporters in Georgia at 18.00 on September 17.
Each candidate must submit signatures from at least 26,530 supporters. Afterwards, their legitimacy by electoral subjects will be made.

"The authorized subjects who have already introduced the presidential candidates must submit signatures of supporters until September 17 including," spokesperson for the CEC Eka Azarashvili said. "Their number has been established. Then CEC will check the authenticity of signatures. CEC chairman will solve the registration issue on the basis of appropriate conclusion."

By this time, nine presidential candidates have been officially registered. Around 54 candidates made bids for registration. The registration was cancelled for 15 candidates for various reasons.

The official registration of candidates will be finalized on September 27.

The presidential elections will be held in Georgia on October 27.
