The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to monitor the ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh, AzVision.az reports citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

Russian peacekeepers continue to ensure the safety of vehicles, transportation of food and various goods. Over the past week, no ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of ​​responsibility of the peacekeeping contingent, no provocative actions against Russian servicemen were noted, the Russian ministry said.

“Our main task is to control the observance of the ceasefire agreement, as well as to ensure the safety of civilian transport along the route,” said the commander of the observation post, Sergei Ivanov. “For this, checkpoints have been set up at the post. Round-the-clock monitoring of the area is carried out, and the traffic safety of civil vehicles is ensured.”

In addition to monitoring the situation in the zone of responsibility, the personnel of the observation posts of the Russian peacekeeping contingent routinely carry out combat training activities and conduct trainings to prevent violations, as well as a possible attack on the observation post.
