Chief of Turkish General Staff to resign
Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Force Necdet Ozel will resign in late July, Kanal7 TV channel reported July 29.
Previously, Ozel was expected to vacate his post in late August.

It was earlier reported that he will take this step due to health problems.

Necdet Ozel was appointed chief of Turkish General Staff on Aug.4, 2011.

Reportedly, Land Forces Commander General Hulusi Akar will replace him on this post.

Akar has been the land forces commander of Turkish armed forces since 2013.
