The migrants, who according to an Associated Press journalist number around 200, where at a standoff with police for an hour and were chanting slogans including: “Open the borders” and “We are not animals”. Thousands of migrants have been scaling fences in their efforts to enter Britain via the Tunnel in search for a better future.
British and French interior ministries said the problem in the Channel is part of a “global migration crisis” that needs an international solution.
