ELSA: `Stop Human Trafficking`
Azerbaijani representation of The European Law Students` Association (ELSA) held `Stop to Human Trafficking` forum on August 1, with the support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations. 50 students from different Universities of Azerbaijan participated in the event.

The main purpose of the forum was to inform younger generation about one of the most widespread crimes, human trafficking and measures taken in struggle against human trafficking. Faik Omarov, the president of the organization made a keynote speech. Later, Ilkin Gurbanov gave information on the types of human trafficking, its statistics,and the current legislation on it, as well as victims of human trafficking and their rehabilitation process.



With its 40,000 members ELSA is the world’s largest independent law students’ association. ELSA provides opportunities for international exchange, diversified legal education and personal professional development for law students and young lawyers. ELSA members are law students and recent graduates who have an academic focus and have demonstrated commitment to international issues. Azerbaijan is the member of ELSA since 2010 and one of the most active members of it.
