Premyakov to appear before Russian court on Aug 12
A Russian court is starting on Wednesday the trial to of Valery Premyakov, the Russian serviceman who faces prosecution over the murder of the family of seven in Gyumri.

The case will be heard by the Southern Military District’s Fifth Garrison Court, which is expected conduct the trial on the premises of the 102nd Military Base (where Premyakov served). But the paper claims that the upcoming proceeding is not going to address the murder proper; the court is reportedly meeting to consider and pass a judgment over Premyakov’s desertion from the military post on the night of committing the crime. As for the murder case, the paper says it will be heard by an Armenian court in autumn. But the desertion case too, is deemed extremely important in terms of resolving the circumstances of the case and the actions by the Armenian and Russian law enforcers following the murder.
