Former German chancellor is hospitalized
Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt was taken to a hospital in Hamburg, reported Focus Online.
The physicians have diagnosed the 96-year-old political figure with dehydration.

“Schmidt’s life is not in danger,” stated hospital chief physician Karl-Heinz Kuck.

Initially, however, doctors suspected that the former chancellor was suffering from a heart disease.

It is reported that he will be discharged from hospital either on August 9 or 10, reported Lenta.

Helmut Schmidt is former Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), and he served as Chancellor of West Germany from 1974 to 1982.
