The death toll from the virus has reached 4,586,188 since the onset of the pandemic.
The US, which is the world's worst-hit country in terms of both cases and deaths, has so far logged 40,280,094 cases, according to the JHU, while 650,532 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 to date.
The COVID cases in Brazil and India have exceeded 20 million.
